2011 STi ECU
« on: May 30, 2019, 09:07:22 am »
Hi all,

A bit of an odd request:

My father has been having hesitation issues with his 2011 sti and the dealership dealing with the issues suspects that it may be an issue with the ECU. They are planning on swapping out an ecu from a 2011 sti that comes in for service to see if it fixes the hesitation but the only other owner to agree for the dealership to swap and test ECUs is not coming in for another month or two.

Unfortunately the Car is his daily driver and we would like to see if this is the issue before ordering a new ECU.
The dealership has had their master tech working on this car and he strongly believes the ecu May simply be defective.

If anyone in the Calgary area is currently able to lend me their ECU for a day I would greatly appreciate it.

Bad ECUs are like Dr. House and Lupus. If it runs, I super seriously doubt it's the ECU.
I may scream like a dainty lady, but I punch like a fairly strong 11-year-old.

Fair enough, unfortunately i can’t get my hands on the car to start troubleshooting since the dealer doesn’t really recognize my unlicensed assay and that could cause warranty issues.
