Edmonton Restaurants
« on: February 18, 2009, 02:06:31 pm »
Fiancee and I are in Edmonton today for a bit of shopping at West Edmonton mall.  Any restaurant recommendations for a good meal for us tonight?  Preferably close by, but I have my GPS with me if needed!

Thanks guys, wish my wallet luck, next stop Bath and Bodyworks. :(

We'd like something that we don't have in Calgary if possible.  (I.e. Old spaghetti factory).

Any hidden gems around here?

Around WEM? not really. There used to be a little place called valentino's in europa blvd in WEM but I'm not sure it's there anymore. If it is, I'd suggest there.

There's an old spaghetti factory in Calgary.

There was a place down on like 170th i always go to when i'm in Edmonton if I can hit it up, it's a mediteranean/asian crossover, very moxies/joeys like... I can't remember the damn name, it's something with L... Lazia!!

http://www.lazia.ca/

There's 2 in Edmonton. Best. Food. Ever.

Chicken Chow Mein  ;D
If the sea was vodka, and I was a duck.
I would swim to the bottom, and drink my way up.
But the sea isn't vodka, and I'm not a duck.
So give me the vodka, and stfu.

Personally, I'd recommend Culina on 99th st.
They're going to park their car over there. You're going to park your car over here. Get it?

If you're looking for Italian, Il Forno Ristorante has never failed me.  On some nights they even have a harpist play.  The mood is nice, and the specials are usually very good.  They are not too far away from WEM neither.

My vote would be to go to sorrentinos on 170st and 69ave. Its about 5 min away from the mall and never dissapoints,
and like Rich said Il forno is always amazing and very unique.

In all honesty though...I took a client to Lazia today for lunch, It was not their usual, Slow/Bitchy service, Cold food. And you're closer to Sorentino's if your at the mall anyway's just south down 170st. And you always get great service there!!

I've never had anything but exceptional service at the Lazia North every time I've been there. Even after a drive up from Calgary and a long day @ WEM, I will always try to make it across the city. Well worth it for the food and service.
If the sea was vodka, and I was a duck.
I would swim to the bottom, and drink my way up.
But the sea isn't vodka, and I'm not a duck.
So give me the vodka, and stfu.

Sorry, the way you worded it, it sounded like slow/bitchy/cold was supposed to be the norm.
