Which fog light mod did you do?

On w/ the parking lights, and stay on w/ the high-beams...  I long ago did the DRL delete.  So I now have 100% manual control of my lights.

Great writeup. I'm also glad I now have someone experienced with this stuff to work with (drag along) when I start down the same road with a new car this summer ;)

Stock ride height is hard for me to look at, looks real nice with the coilovers though!

Here's the write up we used.

http://www.scoobymods.com/forums/fog_light_mod_03-t4703.html?amp;t=4703&highlight=fog+light+mod

There was also a modified factory wiring diagram, that made it much easier to understand.

What kind of things can you change(boost, etc) before you get bumped to the next auto-x class?

For my competition map, it has to be 100% stock boost.  (Targets, WGDC, everything) so only timing & fueling can be different.

For the street, it's a full on Stage 2.  Boost, timing, fueling.

Looks decent for a 'stage2' 2L WRX.  It was pretty cold (-18C) on the 8th, according to Environment Canada.

Yup, that's the problem.  I need the tq sooner, and more of it, and not just on cold days.  :P

Bump up with some new updates (and I threw some part numbers in there).

And to remind people that it's auto-x time again!

No new mods planned for the next while... So i guess you're just going to get shots of the car being used. :P

Man, I'm happy w/ my car...  I wonder how long until I need to get some new tires... (at the wear bars & counting down)

RICE!!

My RE-01R's are at 3/32nds as well. They actually wear quickly if you toss them around on the street.

Thinking about trying the Kumho XS's?

Possibilites are:
  • Bridgestone RE-11
  • Dunlop Z1 * spec
  • Kumho XS
  • Toyo R1R
  • Advan Neova AD08
  • Hankook R-S3
  • Nitto NT-05

Depending on what reviews/NASIOC/Sccaforums/GRM have said by the time I'm shopping.  Depending on when in the season these RE01-r's run out I might even get my new tires shaved...

Yeah I guess we won't really know until the first national event results are posted with ST drivers running the new generation of tire. Wouldn't it be almost worthwhile for you to get a dedicated set of shaved race tires, keep them pristine and puncture free. And just another set of higher treadwear street tires?

Looks like the AD08 and RE11's are priced similarily. If you look at pictures of the AD08, the tread design is quite similar to the RE-01R's. RE-11's are more RE-070ish. Did you check lamberts RE-11's, they heated up FAST after his first, in a manner similar to the direzza star specs. I'm VERY curious how the RE-11's hold up to GD subie weight???

1)  I have a silly urge to "arrive and drive" with no setup changes...  Esp. when the class is called Street Touring.

2)  You of all people should realize the need for baller tires for daily driving/ roadtrips...  :P

Besides, if I did that, the only wheels I'd be interested would likely be RPF-1's... And then people would just think I was Robin. :P

I concur that once you roll daily on baller tires, it'd be near impossible to go back to mediocracy. I'd probably start bleeding internally if I had to go to something like FK452's. (the 452s are actually quite good tires though).

The RC-T4's are a little bit boring, and they don't have an aggressive look to them, they're a little too 'flat' for me. Actually, since you're already rockin the nt-o3's, you should go for an 18" version in gunmetal/hyper black with an aggressive offset. The NT-o3's with a lip looks mad hot.
