Frame's 100% non-repairable IMHO.

click through to my pics of the engine bay, etc.

and even the trunk doesn't line up anymore.

Goodbye Soobie

Hey I wouldn't be in the position I am without your build thread, it was a hell of a car. Get back soon, I don't think even this can shake Autox from your system though.

It was a bit of a roller coaster of emotions for me too, slow walk towards you, then the frantic sprint for a fire extinguisher and the adrenaline. Then winding down after and realizing the severity of it all. Again, thrilled that you walked away without serious injury.

Take care of yourself the next few weeks.

Yea, I might bow out from tomorrows auto-x.

But short of having some type of PTSD occur the next time I auto-x/track I don't see it stopping me.

I didn't expect you to show up tomorrow.
I didn't think you would even consider it.

You may feel the pain a little more tomorrow morning too.

insurance gonna cover it you think?

No, there's no insurance at a timed event.

That's what I meant when I said:
*all* motorsports is inherently dangerous, waivers exist for a reason.

So, for auto-x, time attack, rallyx.  If you damage your car, you're paying for it.

Small fire under the rf. I didn't know it was small from 200ft away so I sprinted my assay off to get there. In the pictures all the yellow crap is extinguiser powder.

That's the powder.

An oil line (or the transmission that split in two) got oil onto the hot turbo/exhaust.

OMG!? this is the sadest sight of my day! I'm sorry this had happened! Definitely one of the builds that I've been watching for a
while. But the main thing is that you're ok.

What's the plan now for the car and a future "race car" ;)

Ouch, tough loss, but as you said a sore knee is much better than the alternative.  Good build you had with lots of ideas and action shots to inspire others.  Looking forward to the next build thread.

Ahhhh itshay Grant, that is brutal.  Sorry about your luck.  What speed were you doing when you kissed the tree?  That is a hell of a lot of damage.

Glad to hear that you are ok other than some bumps and bruises, the car did what it was meant to do in the situation.

What is your going forward plan?

Top of 2nd but it slid forever...

Glad to hear that you are ok other than some bumps and bruises, the car did what it was meant to do in the situation.

Yea, but I'm very sad it had to....

What is your going forward plan?

Good to hear your okay Grant. I saw the pics from my phone earlier, and I died a little inside.

What's the plan from here? Are you going to strip it, and sell off the parts, or even better, buy another Subaru, and transfer it all to the new one?
If the sea was vodka, and I was a duck.
I would swim to the bottom, and drink my way up.
But the sea isn't vodka, and I'm not a duck.
So give me the vodka, and stfu.
If you're having forum problems, I feel bad for you son, I got 99 problems but your post ain't one.
