Yeah! When it mattered, you pulled out a decent run!

...championship standings are taken from fun runs right?

Oh well, got my 100 points in the ASA championship, and my 10 points in the WSC motorsports challenge!

You only got 10 points because you made the rules to your advantage :P

They missed it being called in since it was "fun runs", but i had +1 on that first run as well.

Thanks man!  I think, it's pretty similar to yours, especially the "focus on suspension" part. ;)

So, after a day of auto-x on Saturday I got up at 0430hrs to get dressed & pack my car for the day.
Then swung over to Sherwood Forest, to pick up my co-driver. :P

Then, about 1/2 an hour south of his place, I broke my streak of never getting anything caught in my hood scoop.  :'(

(Yes, I stopped to take pics, wanna fight about it?)

Around 0815 we rolled into Deerfoot mall & there was a *huge* amount of car (especially for a CSCC event), I guess the event being "local" convinced a lot of people to come on out.

The course though, :(.  It was *tight*... Like, wish I had a longer 1st gear or a shorter 2nd gear type tight....  :(  All morning was spent trying to decide where to up-shift (ie, how far to stay in 1st) and if we had to downshift (ie. where to go back to 1st)...  I don't usually do events where that's necessary, so it threw me right off.

0.7 off of "Mr. Morrow" in the morning, boo!

In the afternoon, they changed the course, flipped some elements and opened some stuff up.  It was much better (even if it was still a ~33 second course, which is a waste on a lot that big).  In the afternoon I was only 0.1 off of "Mr. Morrow".

Overall I was 6th in PAX, and 6th in RAW.  Weird.

My co-driver was 11th in RAW, but 9th in PAX. So at least I didn't get beat in my own car.  I think he missed his "torque bots". :P

(3rd PAX, 4th RAW for "Mr. Morrow")

I know ya might be wondering why I'm so fixated on Jason's times...  It's 'cause our cars are *very* evenly prepped.  We even traded cars for fun runs & were able to reproduce our times in each others cars.  We even ran them back to back.

No SS brake lines on my car, and Grant said my brakes feel better haha. Steel lines may be worthless !

It was pretty interesting to switch cars, sway bars/caster are probably the only difference. Tires are even
at the same tread depth. Same fuel load even.

I've long said that people rant about how good they are, only 'cause they have freshly bled brakes from putting 'em in. ;)

Your spring rates are proportionally higher front to rear than mine, so that evens out some of the swaybar difference...

Who knows...  :-\

So, this (long) weekend I've got another 2 auto-x events.

Saturday (July 3rd) is CSCC Event #6, so that counts towards the CSCC championship.  So it'll probably only be the usual CSCC crowd.

Sunday (July 4th) is CSCC Event #7 (which is their WCMA regional event) so it counts not only towards the CSCC championship, but also counts towards the ASA Championship!  So this means that it'll be a "big" event with lots of people from CSCC, ASA, and even further away!

Both events are going to be at The Westerner in Red Deer (ie. where we keep taking pics for WSC Supermeets. :P) so register & come on out! You already know where to find it. ;)

Before you ask, I am okay other than a sore knee that will be visiting the Dr. tomorrow.

The car did it's job & protected me when I apparently asked far too much of it.

*all* motorsports is inherently dangerous, waivers exist for a reason.

All the same, it's a waste to just cruise around.

Just saw these on Facebook/Flickr.

Sorry to see this Grant.  It was a beauty.

I'm with you on the last post.  Cars are meant to be used, hope to see you back out sooner than later, and possible with an even better one.

Your car lived more in it's short time here than most cars do with 10x the time.
