98 vs 99+ Coilpack
« on: February 05, 2008, 08:03:45 am »
Hey,

Does anyone know if there is a difference between the 98 and 99 coilpacks and what do they look like? I'm having a hell of a time finding plug wires for my car, so far every set that subarugenuineparts sent to me did not fit my car....so yeah, would be nice to check out another 98 to see what it's supposed to look like.

Thanks

Andriy

I can't comment specifically on the differences between the coilpacks, but if you're talking about an RS2.5, the engines are different so I assume the coilpacks are going to be different too.  The '98 has a dual cam and the '99 a single cam.

We can compare your 98 with my 99 this weekend if you'd like.  I'd do it sooner but I have midterms tomorrow an friday.

98 is completely different. both ends are shorter. and the coil pack end of things has an elbow on the plug.

the 98 v 99 won't work for each other.

iirc the 97 impreza or OBS wires will work.
