great thread so far...lots of neat little bits of info.  Sent you a pm about all the LEDs and such...ive dont the same with the original bulbs you used and am not a huge fan, I like the look of the new bulbs you have though.

Finally the parts arrived.

I have prepped,  and painted them and they are drying now.  I have found a few issues with the fitment of the parts during the dry fit I did earlier.  Nothing a little time and work didn't fix.

I have found that there really is no great place for the AP on the new console.  (side mirror switch as well)  I made a little bracket to hold my AP. I plan on having it fit on one of the screws that hold down the instrument cluster,  and sneak out under the cluster surround.  A piece of hook and loop tape should keep the AP affixed.

The car really is looking awesome, nice work!  The only suggestion I have is to track down some rear spats...it would complete the sides nicely.

(photo nitpicking:

-make sure the wheels are turned to show the pretty side.
-get low or get high, we always view cars from standing height
-if you can get a circular polarizer filter, do it. Or buy a cheap one and hold it in front.
-interesting background, but you have a transformer growing out of Betty's roof. Get more distance, use a larger apeture, and try a different angle.

You can do it!)

Thanks folks. PD, I plan on tracking down some spats. It took forever to score a pair of skirts.  ::)
Grant, I appreciate the advice. While I still got her clean I'll try the shots again. I have a cool angle or two that I took in the same shoot. Opening the aperature should blur the background a little right?

Here's a couple of different angles from the same shoot.

Turn the wheel the other way in the last 2 pics, and I'd be out've things to nitpick other than how you anonymize the license plate. :P

I kept all your pointers in mind for the shoot I just finished. I'll post after the fights. I am looking into a filter set up for the G10 as well.

*Much* more interesting composition!  :D

-different POV, did'ja bring a stepladder?
-and better light later in the day, eh?  ;)
-watch the edges, you cut off your bumper in the 2nd one
-and your car's growing a post in the 3rd one.

(I don't like the last one though, what were you trying to show?)

Yup.  It was around 7pm last night,  with good light.  I held the camera at arms reach above my head.  I couldn't even see the screen.  :-[ That's why I clipped the edge on the second one.  I must have taken 40 pics from that angle,  and all but two didn't clip.  A ladder,  now there's an idea. ;)  The third one I was just playing around,  trying to make Betty look long.

I have been thinking about my grille for a little while now.  I liked the stock look,  but I want something a little more custom.  I have seen this mod done a thousand times,  and finally decided to go for it.

Here's a look at what I started with.

I started by removing the grille.  (obviously :P)  Then I used tin snips to cut the fins.  The center post came out with the skillfull use of a hacksaw.

I got some expanded metal from CT and got to forming the grille.

I still need to bondo up the grille a bit.  The plastic gets a bit thin where the fins were. The grille itself needs to be painted and there is still a tonne of sanding to do but this is what I got after a couple hours.

Finally I got out to the Garage again.  How is that so hard?  The Garage is ten steps from my door.  Anyway,  I got out the barrel sander attachment for the dremel and got to shaping the corners.  If you plan on doing this,  I suggest using the slowest setting for the dremel.  Hers's some pics.  I have the bondo drying on the grille now.

Duane, your car is looking nice. I've been looking at doing the same thing to my grill. I'm stoked to see how it'll turn out. Are you going to paint the mesh or leave it silver?

i like that stuff.  Are you going to secure a new shiny Subaru logo into the front? or will it remain debadged?

i'd say keep it debadged completely or throw a WRX logo in the bottom corner.
