1. Remove battery, washer fluid reservoir, intake.
2. Unclip coil packs and remove the bolt holding each one to the head.
3. Pull out coil packs.
4. Use spark plug wrench or deep socket (can't remember size off the top of my head) to remove plugs.
5. Do reverse to install plugs.

Note:  Plugs should be properly gapped or they can cause some trouble.

You could go here http://westernsubaruclub.com/smf/index.php?topic=2057.0 and download the factory service manual for your car. Should help a bit. Silent's info is bang on though.

That's why most spark plugs offer their torque spec as an amount to turn after the washer makes contact (ie. 1/2 turn, 3/4 turn)

fist time took me 2 hours, last time took an hour last weekend

you need a 5/8 plug socket. 8 mil and 12mil
and a short extension,

1. take out intake
2. remove coil packs (12 mil) and egt bracket, dont mix them up there is only one bolt on each and are a pain in the assay to remove and put back on.
3. insert plug socket, insert small extension, then ratchet as there is not enough room to just put it all in at once.
4. reverse 3,2,1
5. remove waster fluid reservoir and battery.
6. remove coil packs. 1 bolt on each.
7. step 3.
8. reverse 3,2,1
9. put it all back together.
