Subaru parts software
« on: April 13, 2009, 02:47:07 pm »
I found this thought that it could be usefull.  It has part numbers and exploded diagrams of almost every Subaru model up until 2006.

Has anyone tried installing and using this yet?
I did and followed all the directions they gave and I can only get up to 2002.
And thats with selecting 'LHD' in the setup. When I select 'RHD' like the instructions say it only lists up to 2000.

Dammit.

That thread had a link to an online catalog as well.

Nice find!  I was just thinking this morning that it would be handy to have a part number database (like this) so I could look up what breather hoses I need to replace as they are blowing by a bit...

Thanks!

This one has worked very well for me. I find the parts software is a bit confusing to use sometimes.

I think all of these are the old subaru part numbers.  They changed their system I think.

Nice find, at least I should be able to find all of the old numbers for my RHD car. This will give a starting point to cross reference any newer numbers.

EDIT: I think by 'RHD' they must mean European spec vehicles as my VIN won't work.  :(

I have the actual Japanese version at home, if I ever get some time I'll put it up. I think it's pretty big though, much bigger than this one.

OK, it took me ages to figure this out, but here it is:

1)You NEED to have Japanese language support.

Install applocale.msi here http://www.microsoft.com/globaldev/tools/apploc.mspx

Then do this:

go to Start -> Control Panel -> Regional and Language options -> Languages
Select "support for East Asian languages".
Restart.

2) Download the files here (my hosting)
http://www.steekr.com/n/50-17/share/LNK65684ab6c2e798b0a/

3) UnRAR everything, there are 3 ISO files, mount the ISO files using Daemon Tools or whatever.

4) Go into any of the discs, G:\SFFASTPG\WIN, and run setup.exe. It's all Japanese, just click next until it stops.

5) After installation is complete, go to the start menu and choose the second option, and select where you have the isos hosted. Basically it's the same as the one posted above except in Japanese, so if you're lost, do the same thing you did for the other one.

6) Make a shortcut to the subaru.exe , go into the shortcut, and copy this into the run line:

%windir%\AppPatch\AppLoc.exe "C:\SUBARU2\SUBARU.exe" "/L0411" % windir% \ AppPatch \ AppLoc.exe "C: \ SUBARU2 \ SUBARU.exe" "/ L0411"

Now run it, and you now have this:

I'm not going to bother explaining how to use it, it's exactly the same as the other one, so again if you're lost fire up the English version and figure out where you are. THe only thing that confused me is that once you select the part, it doesn't give you the part number right away, you have to go to the list and hit F5.
