Quick & Easy Way To Reset Ecu
« on: May 17, 2009, 02:24:17 pm »
just thought i would share this in case you're worred because you just popped a code or car is running funny for some reason. im not saying it will work for every body but it has worked as a simple fix for me and a few others. 3 easy steps. 1 leave car in the on position engine not running. 2 disconnect battery ground for 5-10 seconds, all power discharges almost instantly since its all being pulled. 3 connect battery. if its a constantly occurring problem the code will re appear. maybe this will help some, maybe it wont, i'm just sharing some info.

I pop the neg battery cable, and step on the brake until the lights go out.
Does an ecu reset, but doesn't reset my stereo settings.

I select "reset ECU" on my accessport, and then turn the key from on to off and back to on.

We should have a race... an "ECU Reset Invitational Challenge"...
