Rockey Mountain house area is easy access for both calgary and Edm people - and its quite nice!  I did some adventuring yesterday around in RMH area.

Medicine Lake is not bad - although fairly tight with regard to driving space - but theres an AWESOME 10km gravel road before the camp ground: The damn thing could be used as a rally stage, its so fun!

The other sites i checked out were skid sites mostly inhabited by people who are living under a tarp... Literally.. =S  (Elk River.. dont even bother going there... *cough* SKETCHY *cough*)

Around Tay River (Caroline-ish area), there is gov't crown land.....and a cadet camp (should be vacant).

I think that area would be perfect really.  Close to both major cities, yet nice land, and not busy with the usual jasper/banff folk..... however, that means less family stuff to do.

In that area is also Corkscrew Mountain...
For every action, there is an equal and opposite criticism.

agreed... even though i own a Subaru, i dont want to take my nice rims out on gravel.. plus, we'd have to spread out so far between each car to avoid rock chips and to not drive in complete dust. I think a nice twisty asphalt road would be better.

also, can someone change the poll so we can vote for more than one option... cause i'd attend more than one of those.

The point of a poll is to find the most wanted option, no?
Put in your TOP pick, and if you would attend multiples, then you're lucky.

Multiple votes would skew the statistical combinations of the probable results with the finality of overinflated numbers.

wut?

also, i dont think it would skew, i think it would more accurately reflect what the general population is willing to do, therefore, giving a more accurate representation. i would think that the goal is to find the "most acceptable" option to the most amount of people to enable more people to show up, not to make sure that everyone is the happiest.

Not sylvan lake!!!  Has anyone been there in the summer?  It's CHAOS.  There's many places near Rocky Mountain House (and consequently CLOSE to Sylvan) that would be great.  Cow Lake (exit just east of Rocky) has a big group campsite and enough family stuff to keep folks entertained.  I was camping out there a few weeks ago and took the scenic route home, out past Nordegg and then south on 93 to hook up to 1 East back to Calgary.  Cow Lake isn't the greatest camp ground (its kind of a swamp haha), but it's a pretty great drive and would have more than enough room  for "super meet".  I just can't see 30+ Subaru's driving through Calgary-Like-Stop-And-Go-Traffic in Sylvan being any fun.  Just a thought.

If the sea was vodka, and I was a duck.
I would swim to the bottom, and drink my way up.
But the sea isn't vodka, and I'm not a duck.
So give me the vodka, and stfu.

We still have to decide where... and then when...

Im guessing this will be on a weekend. I would say mid-late august would be best to give everyone the most notice possible... What about the weekend of the 22nd or 29th?

+1, if it involves a friday.  If it's just the weekend I'm good to go.
