The Stuff Arrived
« on: February 18, 2008, 10:57:42 am »
The stuff arrived.   A little late thanks to Canada Customs.

Flaps are installed and look great.   The wifey thinks 'they stick out too much'.... to which i reply... 'Exactly!'.

Now i need to help xrayvsn to install his  (the lazy tard).

Did you remove your rear wheels to get the rear flaps installed?  I did mine last night but couldn't get anything but my fingers in to tighten the screws without removing the rear wheels.  The fronts were fine, only the rears were like that.

yes i had to remove the rear wheels.

just stick a jack under the rear diff.. and let the lug nuts fly!...

ooh, and if you dont secure the car with proper axle stands, then be sure never to place yourself in danger if the lift lets go.

yeah, I just removed the rear wheels as well.  Loosen the lugs on 1 side, lift the car, remove lugs + wheel, replace.  It was pretty quick, only about 20 mins to get it done.

I may as well join the bandwagon here, too.  I'll have some that need installing soon also.

The limited flaps are softer and more flexible than the basic flaps.  Just from that, I'd assume they would hold up a lot better under extreme frozen conditions than the basic flaps would.

I installed syphers on his can on the ground and I did not have to remove any wheels.  You guys are making it harder that it really is.  It took I think about 20 min and we were done.  All you need is a stubby Phillips I believe, or any stubby that the screws require.
I just hit V-TEC YO!! That's why my plate says ITLL GO!!

Maybe for his car, but it wasn't the case for mine.  I have about an inch of clearance between my rear wheels and mud flaps.

^^^^^^
Sorry,  I did it on a 06 impreza and I found that it is fairly easy but you have the gc8 and i have no idea so again sorry.  But the 06-07 should all be the same, I found it tight but doable.

Got mine in and I love how they look,
Only installed the front right so far but still very nice.
I'm going to have to remove the rear wheels as well to install them.
I'm with Chad and have if I'm lucky an inch of clearance.
