Don't be scared off by the "Diesel" rating for this oil.  Its been getting great reviews on BITOG.  I've used this for 3 oil changes on my E36 M3 which previously was on Castrol Syntec.... this stuff rocks!

4L for under $30 at Canadian Tire.

Glad to see someone agrees with me.  I can never find it at the local CT so I get it at AutoValue.

Interesting ... cheaper by how much?  It would have to be less expensive enough to warrant going out of my way.

another option, but only cheap from distributer (find your nearest esso distributer, and buy it by the case)  $32 per jug.

Mobil 1 Delvac 1 ESP is PAO based, rather then highly refined crude stocks, resulting in a lower pour point of -48 and a higher flash point of 249 (result in less volatility = less oil consumption)

^^Haha, I was reading that too. First post said $30 for 4L and than yours was $30/L, definitely not cheap haha.

But yea, lots of people say Rotella is an amazing oil, definitely getting it for my next change :)

Do you use the 5W-40 year round or just for the summer? What grade do you use for the winter?

For those who park their cars outside, the 0w40 T5 would work great. (The 0w40 weight of the T5 is synthetic).

The 5w40 T6 will probably cover most situations.

Funny observation.... UFA's retail prices are less then the wholesale price from the distributor for Shell lubricants (Bluewave).

Subaru OEM Filter. If you can find them, the general consensus is that the black ones are the best. They dont make them anymore however, so everyone has switched over to the blue ones. I usually order mine from Subaru Genuine Parts in packs of 6.

It's no motul, (or is it?) but I think for the price I'm going to give it a shot this next time.

Zaider, I'll be interested to know what the lab says next time you send some in!

Awesome. Does this stuff come in 1 liter bottles too?  Or just 4?  I'm at beacon hill Canadian tire right now and don't see the 1 liters!

The Rotella T6 5w40 only in 4L jugs.  The T5 in 0w40 is in 5L jugs.

So far I haven't ran this on my OB STi; however I've been running T6 in my E36 M3 'vert, my parent's '03 LGT, '06 Legacy 2.5i, my brother's '01 OB LTD S/C my uncle's '07 H6 OB LLB and aunt's modded '98 Legacy L.

+1 for great oil
"I hate my life"... But wait, it gets better.

Got a nod from a dude with a fantastic moustache in a Grey Wagon/Black or CF hood turning onto Shawinigan Dr  this evening. Courtesy of Way-Do

Ummm, wasn't the whole point of the WRX supposed to be an AWD car that would perform well on narrow, twisty dirt/gravel/snowy/paved roads? Seems like the problem isn't with the WRX, it's with idiots using them to race Mustangs between traffic lights.

But the T5 0w40 is just a synthetic blend?  Not a full synthetic?  I do park outside but I'm thinking I would still rather run the T6 5w40.
