good e-tuner in canada?
« on: June 22, 2014, 02:53:21 pm »
I'm looking for a good guy, shop to get my car e-tuned. I live in winnipeg, mb, and there is no awd dyno in site.
I've found a few shops in the states that do e-ruining for my car, just wondered if there was some place locally?
Any suggestions? I have everything needed (ecuflash, rom raider, ect...) except the tuner.

I've got a 2010 impreza 2.5i MT.

Is it even worth tuning a NA car?

Give Airboy a shout, not sure if he does e-tunes regularly, but he did help out some guy in Florida and got rave reviews.  Doesn't hurt that he's also the forum's go to tuner and all around good guy.

nice, I'll keep an eye out for him.

and yes, it's very worth it. It's the last step in a long engine build up.

I ended up sending the whole engine to Tom at TWE after my local dealership destroyed my motor (another story).
I have his very first set of 100mm 11.5:1 pistons for the 2.5i
He ported and polished the heads, valve job to match the pistons.
TWE stage 2 cams
rebuilt all the internals, hard induction crank, STi connecting rods, king bearings.
CAI, OBX EL headers, 3" n1 exhaust, no cats.
I just ordered new deatsch werks injectors and fuel pump to keep up with the fuel demand.
light weight flywheel, pulleys, ect...
tuning is not my bag, don't want to mess with it too much.

Not too bad, pretty big build for a N/A motor, what are your power goals?

I'm already in the 180-200hp range depending on what the car is feeling like, lol.
I'd be happy sitting at 200-210 range. I can only do so much with the gas I can get at the pump.

Nice NA build! Just curious though, if you want to get an e-tune why limit yourself to only looking in Canada? I just figure there would probably be a lot more options for NA tuners in the US. Do you have a build thread for your car? I'd be interested in seeing updates after you get a tune and hear about how it drives!

oh I agree, far more guys in the US. just wanted to try Canada first.

I've had a guy helping me with the tune and been experimenting a lot my self. biggest problem now is my injectors and fuel pump. I'm way over working them. waiting for a new set right now before I do any more tuning.
my AFR's are jumping around.
