Battlefield 1 / Released October 18th
« on: May 03, 2016, 08:58:31 am »
Im going to start this post as there was a lot of interested when BF4 dropped  :)

After 3 years in development, DICE announced on April 28th that the next battlefield will be revealed this Friday May 5th !  in a live stream with the developers.

There is a live countdown on their event page

http://www.battlefield.com/event

Pretty exciting news if you ask me as i still play BF4 regularly compared to any other FPS on the market right now. Out of all the rumours there are 3 different avenues the developers could be taking on the game;

1) A remake of Battlefield 1942, or a game set between 1942 - 1944. This is most likely what i believe they will announce on Friday as the official battlefield page have been tweeting clips from their original 1942 game all weekend and the community has been BEGGING to bring back another FPS done in a past World War setting. Also to go along with the rumours Battlefield recently updated all their 1942 pictures on their website inside the " Battlefield Timeline " within the event page , they did not do this for any of the other games within the series...hmm why would they spend time doing this for just one game out of their series ???

http://www.battlefield.com/games

Here are some of the high res photos they redid on their timeline:

2) A continuation where BF4 left off. There is speculation around this but i dont think this would happen as the transition from BF3 to BF4 was very minor, both games shared similar weapons and the same setting. I dont think they would bore us doing this with BF5..

3) A remake of Battlefield 2142 or a far future game. When 2142 came out it was something different for the franchise and was welcomed back then, now a days with all the futuristic shooters out there i would not like to see another one, A thing to keep in mind though when they started developing BF5 this is when Call of duty switched from boots on the ground to the new movement system so i hope they didnt follow suit. PLEASE DICE no future ullbayitshay !!

Another flop like Battlefield Hardline is out of the question as DICE has confirmed they will stick with their military roots for BF5, and of course this is all speculation until we see what happens this Friday.

Fingers crossed for 1942

What would you guys like to see for the next game ?  8)

 Battlefield 1942

I'm hoping for this one, sick of the "futuristic" crap, I even loved playing Battlefield 1943 on xbox arcade.

I agree, i loved how you could run a whole naval ship on a squad and fight your opponents.

On another note, Huge twitter battle going on between DICE and Call of duty, its pretty funny

Didn't play 1942. I loved BF3, had about 165+ hrs online (played with friends from back home in ON all the time) and liked BF4 but didn't play it as much (friends from back home didn't have an XB1).

Not a big fan of the who future thing, so I guess I'd like to see something more along the lines of 1942.

Can't say specifically why, but after seeing that I'm thinking Fantasy WWI or II, like what MIGHT have happened if the Axis were to have survived. Instinct tells me that's an airship the guy is looking up at.

Either that, or it'll be another damned futuristic one, and it's a spaceship.

He could be in a trench looking up at a tank if its WW2, or it could be a Zeplin bomber, the shadow is pretty big on his face though. also the jacket hes wearing is from that era ? these tweets seem to almost confirm that

i really hope its not a spaceship but wow do the graphics look amazing.

Looks interesting, but I'm worried about it being over the top run and gun and killing the vibe.

True. But can you really run and gun in this setting w/ small magazines and inaccurate rifles? lol

I'm stoked for the bi-planes, slow assay dog fighting itshay. And it'll probably be fairly balanced unlike the OP as uckfay anti-air in BF3/BF4

There's a lot of melee weapons showcased in the trailer, and every scene being basically a giant cluster uckfay.

Good point, that'll likely slow the game down in a good way. Might have to pick this one up in the fall.

I think it will be a hit, there really isn't anything like this on the market right now. They were mentioning a horse is a type of vehicle in multiplayer, mounted combat anyone ? Haha

Sweet, think I’ll try to get in on that. Polk just sent me the boom mic for my 4 Shot’s so people can actually hear me now.

Picking up Rainbow Six Siege tonight, was holding off since my headset didn’t work lol.

Im curious to see how they do the vehicle mechanics in this instalment, its already been confirmed that there will be different types of bi-planes and tanks along side the horses, jeep like vehicles, bikes, naval ships and bombing Zeppelins. Supposedly each tank and plane will have different driving mechanics rather then every single one having the same controls in BF4. Maybe we will see some multi-player footage at E3

I always wanted to be good with a chopper, but didn't play it enough to really get the hang of it. Having each vehicle use different controls will really make gamers chose which ones they want to be good with.
