Introduction from Calgary
« on: September 05, 2008, 02:43:58 pm »
Hey all!

I've got an as-of-yet unmodified 2004 Forester XT, which I purchased last month.

I plant to do a stage 1 ECU flash in spring at the latest, and likely replace the up pipe and down pipes later on in the summer and reflash. I've done some logging with a friend who has an 2004 WRX with stage 2.

I also need to find myself a double DIN to single DIN converter and a wiring harness so I can get my head unit installed. Any help with this portion would be appreciated! I've not had luck in my hunt these pieces.

It should be a fun winter! :)

Welcome, sweet FXT!  Talk to GlennC about the stereo stuff, I think that will be the general consensus!!

Welcome to the boards, Colin!

Spreading misinformation are we?  J/K  My car is a 2004, not a 2003 :)  Also, I don't think that reference curve in your dyno plot are my unmodified numbers.  I think they might actually be from some logs I took with the TBE installed on a Stage 1 tune.

Sorry Steveb0t! I've modified my post to reflect the correct year of your car. Don't want to mix you up with the bug eyes! :)

Thanks for all the positive comments.

NICE another FXT... love those man. trying to convince the wife she needs one... lol

Welcome to WSC... and x2 for the Airboy tune... easier to come by and safer then some the OTS ones your Ap would come with... but the AP is a cool toy.

Have fun!

Nice ride and welcome to WSC.

Let me know if you ever want to sell your wheels (Enkei RPM02, 17"?) ;)

Looking for spares Jeff?

Was that question a little abrupt?  ;D I'm just thinking about moving down from 18" to 17" wheels but I can't find anything I like better than the RPM02's, so I figured I better get dibs in quick  ;)

Could also trade 18" for 17" ?   ;D

Jeez!!! Another punk in an FXT thinking he's all cool and stuff... No wait, that would be me... ;)

Welcome fellow FXT'er. I just went to stage 1 last week, followed by a trip to the coast and some top quality PURE BC 94 octane. Still can't get the smile off my face.  ;D

Enjoy the winter.

Dyno plot from logger (reference is friend's unmodified '04 WRX):

Did you change the "vehicle information" section of the spreadsheet?  The FXT has different gearing (shorter) and tire size than the WRX.

Gain 50 ft-lbs, ask me how! :-)

I installed my head unit today. Thanks to Visions NW for some assistance with the DIN cubby. I might switch it up. I hope to find one that matches the Forester trim with a door on it. Like the one in Peaty's thread: http://www.scoobymods.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7238

Unfortunately I'm missing out on the sub in the back, due to the oddball way that the stock head unit connects to it. It warrants further investigation, needless to say. :)
