No idea..version 4 stock wrx. Been running beautiful since its been landed in November. Medicine hat is only 300 meters closer to sea level than Calgary. Maybe I just got lucky?

I didn't think that air pressure should make a difference with a turbocharger. No matter what, you are getting 15-18 PSI, which means you get the same oxygen content wherever you are.

Maybe this is why the 20K has a bad reputation... so many people running 16+ psi and it does not sound like that's where it should be at (aside from the guy with a standalone haha).  Could have some blown engines soon?  I'd be curious to see everyone's ECU numbers and have them open it up to check if there are some extra bits in there.  I'm guessing Rob's tune will be more in line with the 550 tune, just better tuned for our gas at different rpm's.
Look forward to seeing what happens.

Im willing to bet that it will be more like his 440 tune. He said that his first priority is a safe reliable tune for the stock engine. 550 requires upgraded injectors, fuel pump etc. It will still be an improvement over stock but I dont think a 550 tune will be out for the 20k for a long time.

Ah good point!  I figured he'd be swapping in the same injectors and putting on the same mods heh.  Damn!  Well maybe I could still apply that safe tune to my forester  :)

Oh really? Always thought yours was an STi . Nice! I'm not alone. But you're at .5 BAR for some odd reason, haha.

Lol yeah. I love being in other JDM GCs. Its like a new car every time. I get in mine and get bored. If wasn't cold I would get pictures of my setup, but as long as it works I'm not SUPER worried.

Taking a quick browse through this thread showed most people claiming ~14PSI stock boost which seems reasonable. http://www.perth-wrx.com/vb/mechanicals/22802-boost-psi-standard-wrx-my98.html

Are you sure your boost gauge is reading correctly?

That link has info for wrx/sti made in the uk they had slightly different specs. Plus my 97' wrx has a vf23 and I have hit 15psi give or take a little for over a year since I have had it. 18.85psi does seem high, but I have seen people claiming 17psi though.

Im just gonna say what ive been thinking about 18.85 psi. If its on stock tune... id be scared. I feel that its a ticking time bomb. I understand its a bigger turbo but its the same block... I hope youre running an afr gauge too lol.

I'm not scared by any means. Car has been running fantastic since its been landed and I don't drive like an idiot.
Have put close to 5,000 trouble free km's on it. Best JDM I have owned to date.

I don't think its as much an issue as it is with USDM cars.
Bunch of guys here are running TBE without a tune.
