That could pass for a picture of mine, but were you also rewarded by the sound of the one above falling down as you wrangled the can out?

Mine dropped as well.  What did you think of the IPA?  I enjoyed mine; it was crisp and the bitterness on the finish was the perfect amount.

Day 4:

Strathroy Brewing Company - 1815 XXXX Peacemaker

Mine has sediment on the bottom of he bottle.  Sure hoping its not a sour beer.

It was good, not too bitter & lots of fruity notes in the taste.  The wife liked it a lot, which is a rare thing.

Naw, I'm sure it's just an unfiltered or in bottle carbonated using yeast.  (Mine had the sediment in the bottom corner too). bottle conditioned. (i finally read the side of the bottle)

Mine smelled/tasted like wet cardboard.  My least favourite of the 4 beers so far.

Day 5 of 24:

Aviator Brewing Company - Devils Tramping Ground Tripel

I think this is today's beer as my calendars is a complete mess inside:

Absolute mess with all the bottles above on the adjacent rows out.  I ended up opening the calendar up to fix everything.  What a complete disappointment!  I laid the calendar on its back so it won't happen again.

That sort of happened to me last year. It was tough to re-organize!

The Krampus beer (4th or so, and it was a sour beer) from last season still makes me shudder when I think about it... yuck.

Looks like the pic I took!

Having taken apart the last couple years to flatten the box, and from watching the wife take apart & re-engineer this years box (to avoid spoilers) and having it now resting on its back... They cheaped out _badly_...

There used to be a sleeve or pigeon hole, for each beer, the entire depth of the box.

Now this year there's a 2 cardboard sheets with holes in them, one about 1/2 way and one about 3/4 to the rear... So there's nothing keeping them contained! And nothing keeping you from accidentally seeing adjacent days (or seeing through the handles).  Along with the "we forgot cans are shorter" debacle all just adds up to 24 days of ball ache.

Super sweet, but also super hoppy... They don't cancel, or even balance each other out... They just seem to fight for which is the strongest taste.

Also, "unfilted draft ale" wasn't kidding... I'm not expecting sediment to come out of a can, or get danced around by the carbonation like some gradeschool science experiment.

Along with the "we forgot cans are shorter" debacle all just adds up to 24 days of ball ache.

I was hoping that the first can we got was the only one in the calendar.  When I saw the gong show on Saturday morning was caused by another can, I sort of lost it.  For a "premium" calendar, Craft Beer really screwed up.  If they knew cans were going in the calendar, they should have designed the box to accommodate them.

I reckon I will go purchase a beer calendar at Costco and play catch-up this weekend.

Day 7 of 24:  Cameron's - Into the Shade

Super tasty & easy to drink... but also the worst pouring, hyper carbonated beer so far.

Just opening was enough to make it "boil over" with head before I even tried to pour it.

Yea, the fact they videod (and uploaded) that vid I linked above on _Nov 30_ tells me they *knew* it was uckfayed and did nothing about it...

Yep, no differences here. Went into a .5L glass and the foam left a nice bump still.
The Box... I've given up, with how most had fallen coupled with my ham fists, the box has been opened with a delicate touch akin to ravenous wolves fighting over a fallen fawn. It's given me a motivation to finally build the beer shelf in my garage.

Day 8 of 24:

Spider Bite Beer Co. - Boris the Spider Russian Imperial Stout

It was certainly... roasted.

I guess it fit the "Imperial Stout" genre:

Quote
Russian Imperial Stout
Description:
Inspired by brewers back in the 1800's to win over the Russian Czar, this is the king of stouts, boasting high alcohol by volumes and plenty of malt character. Low to moderate levels of carbonation with huge roasted, chocolate and burnt malt flavours. Often dry. Suggestions of dark fruit and flavors of higher alcohols are quite evident. Hop character can vary from none, to balanced to aggressive.

I have no idea what an "Imperial Red Ale" is supposed to be.

But it's bitter as frig.

Day 12 of 24:  Flying Monkeys Craft Brewery - Saint Beatnick Chocolate Stout

Lots of stouts claim to have "chocolatey notes" or stuff like this.  This has the smell, and almost mouthfeel of >85% dark chocolate.  Smells just like black forest cake, chocolate & cherry.

Wife loved how it smells, hates how it tastes.

This one is my favourite so far!

I'm loving the calendar this year, no complaints out of the 12 we've had.
