Brake bleeding order + hydro handbrake
« on: January 22, 2016, 11:00:37 am »
So... Everyone has differing opinions on this, what does the WSC community think is the correct order to bleed brakes? Furthest first? Nearest first? Techniques for bleeding with the hydro (Pedal down, hydro on, close bleeder screw?)

Thoughts?

Vacuum bleeder! Furthest first, in a cross pattern.
If the sea was vodka, and I was a duck.
I would swim to the bottom, and drink my way up.
But the sea isn't vodka, and I'm not a duck.
So give me the vodka, and stfu.
If you're having forum problems, I feel bad for you son, I got 99 problems but your post ain't one.

Furthest to closest AS THE LINES GO.
Isnt the hydro hand rear wheel only?
I say just leave it down the whole time. AFAIK they are usually just an inline valve on the rear line. Probably a localized high point tho, is there a bleed screw on the hand brake? If so I'd do that right after the rear wheels, regardless of length, then leave it engaged while I did the front.

Furthest, nearest, pedal down, pedal up, who cares.

Experiment a little. Do whatever it takes to get it hard.

Normally I don't care, but it becomes different when you're in a race car that uses said brakes and hydraulic handbrake a LOT.

uckfayin princess auto wants $65 for that vac bleeder, going to wait for that to go on sale.

I just follow the workshop manual for the SH.. bleed the MC, then passenger front, driver rear, driver front, passenger rear. Works for me.
