With LilDrunkenSmurf having the day off, he graciously offered his car-hole to my blue lady and me. Cagare also hung out too, good to see you again!
We performed a compression test (results in the photo below) as well as changed the spark plugs. I also did an oil change yesterday and installed an EZ-drain valve acquired from:
Automotive Parts Distributors.
https://goo.gl/maps/wUcFPKM58yE2Tightening this was not E-Z. FFS.
Compression was worrying but it's fairly even and the overall spread between cylinders is close. Shrug? Engine was hot when we performed it as well. Cylinder 1 was the first one we did. Also, air pump removal was balky at first but once I got my fingers on the connector it was easy. LDS with the clutch idea of loosening the fuse box to gain more clearance.
Compression results:
Cylinder 1 : 120psi
Cylinder 2 : 129psi
Cylinder 3 : 126psi
Cylinder 4 : 125psi
Plugs are worn but fairly decent looking. No oil stains or splash, I'm happy. Might be the original plugs, I can't say for sure. Have the old number on them, NGK ILFR6B. I replaced them with LFR6AIX's (platinum ground w/ center electrode iridium vs nickel ground and center iridium electrode, respectively). New plugs installed 161,590 km, and yes, I can speak to animals. The cold engine hesitation seems to be gone, and it seems to pull pretty strong. I'll monitor fuel economy to see if gets better as well.
Garage shot / booty shot.
When LDS asked me if I was excited for autocross on Sunday, I explained to him my theory of delayed - stoke. I apply this logic to festivals, shows, lots of things. I try not to get overly hyped in the days leading up to it,
delaying the gratification until the very last possible second where when the day comes, I just blow my wad and lose it. Massive energy.
