My foresters idle use to be a bit rough, me and RTP pulled the plugs when we did a compression test and regapped them. Now I can talk to animals, and life has never been the same.

Like I mentioned before, I have a compression tester. Depending on when you want to do it, if I'm around, I'm still up for helping.
If the sea was vodka, and I was a duck.
I would swim to the bottom, and drink my way up.
But the sea isn't vodka, and I'm not a duck.
So give me the vodka, and stfu.

:)

Thank you kind sir jorvington, let us coordinate a schedule that suits both of us! That Friday you mentioned would be good...the 12th? Or the week after?

New plugs before my first autocross? I'm rockin' a semi.

Do you need any work done to the S2K...?

Aside from wiring in my dash cam, and a new alignment? Not really. Low mileage means low maintenance.

Heh. Low maintenance.

I'll help you wire it too, I have an abundance of 'shrank and a heat gun. (inb4 Canuckrz calls me a g.d. electrician)

With LilDrunkenSmurf having the day off, he graciously offered his car-hole to my blue lady and me. Cagare also hung out too, good to see you again!

We performed a compression test (results in the photo below) as well as changed the spark plugs. I also did an oil change yesterday and installed an EZ-drain valve acquired from:

Automotive Parts Distributors.
https://goo.gl/maps/wUcFPKM58yE2

Tightening this was not E-Z. FFS.

Compression was worrying but it's fairly even and the overall spread between cylinders is close. Shrug? Engine was hot when we performed it as well. Cylinder 1 was the first one we did. Also, air pump removal was balky at first but once I got my fingers on the connector it was easy. LDS with the clutch idea of loosening the fuse box to gain more clearance.

Compression results:

Cylinder 1 : 120psi
Cylinder 2 : 129psi
Cylinder 3 : 126psi
Cylinder 4 : 125psi

Plugs are worn but fairly decent looking. No oil stains or splash, I'm happy. Might be the original plugs, I can't say for sure. Have the old number on them, NGK ILFR6B. I replaced them with LFR6AIX's (platinum ground w/ center electrode iridium vs nickel ground and center iridium electrode, respectively). New plugs installed 161,590 km, and yes, I can speak to animals. The cold engine hesitation seems to be gone, and it seems to pull pretty strong. I'll monitor fuel economy to see if gets better as well.

Garage shot / booty shot.

When LDS asked me if I was excited for autocross on Sunday, I explained to him my theory of delayed - stoke. I apply this logic to festivals, shows, lots of things. I try not to get overly hyped in the days leading up to it,
delaying the gratification until the very last possible second where when the day comes, I just blow my wad and lose it. Massive energy.

HYPE TRAIN HAS LEFT THE STATIONNNNNN WHUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUTTTTTTTT

My morning runs were great, I was able to improve each run with my fastest in the morning being my 4th. The afternoon was a more mixed bag, my fastest run being my 3rd run. Depending how
the rest of this year goes, I'll try to make it out to more events, and eventually I'll start tweaking the setup more. Sways, coilovers w/ adjustable top hats, the whole deal. OH MAN I can't describe how
addicting it is.

A huge thanks to all of WSC that came out to watch, photograph and encourage, you're all awesome.

Great shots!  8)
Way to Dodge, duck, dip, dive and dodge!

I have to get signed up for an event soon, my only taste of the glorious Auto-X was the last event of last year.
The urge is strong with this one.

Thanks for the shots Jonny!! That blue Corvette would startled me the first time he got on throttle out of the first slalom, sheesh. Sounded so good.

The urge is strong with this one.

I hear you. I feel it's the slipperiest of slopes - I'm a fairly competitive person, one day I'll be so devoted to this, I already know it.  ;D

I was at autocross one day with the legacy. I was waiting in grid, while Cagare was marshalling in grid.

(standing 15 feet from my car)

Cagare: "hey RB93, you are up soon, you should get your car running"

Me: "It is running..."

Your runs are very smooth! Nice driving! :)

Nice driving dude! Even after Johnny's warning I was still startled because it wasn't quite at what I considered to be "the end" of the video lol

Zero static actually. I would prefer to add some negative for next my alignment.

Got a CEL today. Misfire Cylinder 2. Thank goodness I had my BT dongle plugged in.

Cleared the code with my mini OBD but my only inkling is this past weekend I filled with Petro in Lake Louise and Esso in Calgary for the first time in 6 months...

Poor quality fuel? Sigh. I just did plugs with sir Jorvington so...I dunno.

Probably ringlands.

Misfire on Cyl2 is better than firing on only 2 cylinders.

Re: diamondedge's 2007 WRX - "Summertime Sadness"
« Reply #199 on: July 26, 2017, 12:26:59 am »
Post title updated to reflect my current mood with regards to not having a job...wrong kind of feals. And who doesn't love Lana Del Rey.

Some pictures of my adventures so far this summer:

Revelstoke: When your friend gets married and requests your car for "something blue."

Wasn't blue for long though, we then drove up to Echo Lake and this was the result:

This past weekend after getting the Laggin' Wagon going - some ice cream with a few Flaming Roosters (spot the lurking Fozzy)

New OEM fog lights installed with some 3000K bulbs. Check that cutoff, the old lenses were so pitted they didn't have any cutoff.

Changed the oil at 166980 km; she burned ~1L over 5352 km. Bless that EZ drain valve, I didn't spill a drop. The hype is real.
The oil consumption is consistent over these last few changes. I had previously lent out my drain pan to a neighbour, so I cleaned it as best as I could...

When I drained my oil, I saw a little bit of glitter, but I could be a hypochondriac. Time for a UOA. :-\
Blackstone Labs kit is on the way.

I also rotated the tires too. The little nubs are visible between the shoulder blocks on the rears, but not on the fronts. This being a Subaru, it makes sense for the fronts to be working harder.. (Dat understeer amirite? Also inb4 Spencer saying I drive like a maniac)

STi stamped!

So...yeah. Summertime sadness...I still have lots of other things to be happy about. :) :)
