Anybody download it? Thoughts?
I'm enjoying it so far but it could definitely use some work; not surprised they didn't roll it out worldwide right from the start. Not as hardcore about it as a lot of people I've seen/heard of.

Not officially. You just download the .apk and install it yourself.

Very excited for it, like RTP I'm going to wait, not tech-savvy and don't want to download malware/get banned.

If you can register a US iTunes account (which isn't too difficult) you can get it. I'm not too sure about android though as I've only read about people downloading apk files which I would be very hesitant to do.

I haven't even picked a team. But I did catch a Taurus this morning, so I got that going for me, which is nice. Downtown FTW.

That being said, I lost a Staryu and a Drowsy yesterday cause the game crashed as the pokeball crashed.

Happened to me a few times too it seems kinda buggy between wifi and network if you accidentally go between while open.

I've never played, or really paid any attention to Pokemon. Do you do anything besides walking around and pointing your phone at random spots looking like a goof? I'm assuming you can *battle* other people?

It's a slightly different version of Ingress, where you walk around and collect Pokemon. Made by the same company, Niantic.

Pretty much a way to help Google collect data for its Maps.

It's actually a reskin of Ingress, after Niantic was purchased by the Pokemon company.

Technically no, but there are ways around it.

iPhone users can setup a US iTunes account. Android users can sideload it, if they trust the APK enough.

How much are you guys paying for those plans? Everywhere I look online have similar plans as I am paying. I did have a $28/unlimited data plan with Wind from 2012 that I ended last year because Wind sucks, but I've never seen these awesome plans before. I do have WiFi at school though so that's good.

Wind just upgraded their Calgary network. But I'm paying for a 15GB family share plan. $165 for 2 phones.

Hm, might be worth it to check them out again. Don't get signal and data outside of major cities right? Remember that being a problem when I was on Wind. $165/2 phones 15gb sounds pretty damn good

Not sure if I need that much data once summer's over though.
