Riding out in Golden last weekend was epic. Even scored my instructor certificate while at it

29er?

Looks like things are drying out nicely on the east side of the Rockies. We've had the longest runoff season in years, the trail crews here have had to reroute a whole bunch of trails due to the amount of water that's still coming down from the hills.

I get out once or twice a week, starting to get more involved in the local community, it's been a fun season so far. Also got to take part in one of the BC Enduro Series events, that was so much fun. By far the biggest day of riding I've had in a long time. I got to pre run the entire course on race day to make sure trails were all clear, test the timing, etc. Super rad! I actually got a time out of it and finished mid pack for my age category.

So what you're saying is that you're old...

Gf got me to rent a road bike and go up Highwood pass with her on Saturday while the road is still closed. It was alright but I don't know why people would do it when mountain bikes exist.

I like road biking. Especially hammer nights. It's like putting your body on the dyno and seeing what it can do.

You manage to get out for a ride with Ted and Gab? Those guys rip! And they put on a heck of an event too! You end up with time for prerunning? Looked like a big day of riding.

Let me know when you come out to Kelowna. I happen to be close by. If you come a little further to Penticton I can show you around.

I'm planning a trip down to the Whistler area next week to do some camping with family. Will probably get a good day of trail riding in while I'm there. Anyone have any leads on some good places to camp? Need at least pit toilets and someplace to pitch a tent.

More bike pics to keep things on topic. Enjoying the sunrise rides lately, only time it's cool enough to spin the pedals.

I've only camped at Riverside, which is the closest one to town.
It's not cheap for being tent only, they grossly overcharge for firewood (in the 1:100 chance there isn't a fire ban), and if you have a ton of gear it can be a PITA as its walk in only.
But a bright side is that it has hot showers, and taxis are easy to get if you want to partake in a pop or six in town.

I know there's a campground near Pemberton on Lilloet lake, and I've driven past signs for one 10km or so south of Whistler, but I haven't stayed at either to tell you what they're like. Im sure there are more if you dig around.

The Rootdown looks awesome! I want to try one sometime.

For now I'm sticking with my Enduro.

I'm heading to Squamish next week for biking. Any dope spots to hit along the way? All-mountain/XC/Enduro trails. Technical descents kick assay, and biking to the top is how we do it.

Wuss. Go to Lillooet. Ittl toughen you up.

On your way out, stop in Kamloops. Get passed by a thousand trucks on harper or go ride bachelor heights. If you can work up enough strava karma to shuttle, go to savona and ride the graveyard trail. Its incredibly fun and janky and off camber corners and cow poop dodging and babyhead fields and descent commitals.

Also ride the green monster once you get out west.

Lillooet is on the way. Duffy Lake Road is my all time favourite driving roads. What's dank in Lilly?

I rode Della a lot. Its an amazing descent. Ride it from the top. https://www.trailforks.com/trails/della-creek/ https://www.trailforks.com/trails/upper-della/

Theres some amazing trails near town and across the valley but honestly I dont remember where and they dont pop up on trailforks.
I mostly relied on locals to drive me around. Seek out a guy named Kevin Aitken. I think hes a Councillor. He'll show you the goods. Just look him up on faceballs.

I was in fern town last weekend, it was dry and dusty. Hit a few harder lines like Rumple, had forgotten how it could be hard. Must ditch GF to reaffirm skills

I rode Fernie last weekend as well.
Ripped a pedal out of a crank arm on my warm up run. MacGiver'd it together, and played some more.
Roughest/loosest I've ever seen the hill. Rumple was punishing.
