I do miss your V-Mount, but holy crap, is the piping on that IC massive.

the V-mount was "cool" but not ideal, I modeled it after the way drifters use to do it... that was not aero dynamically correct and it was a pain in the assay to work on so we are trying this setup. worst case we go back to standard FMIC or redesign the V-mount to work correctly.

Excellent.
The 3 is raw.  Lighter than more agile.  The 6 probably feels like a 747.  And by that contrast, my STI probably feels like the Hindenburg.  So GR's are like the International Space Station.

I hope most if not all of you had some time to spend with your family during the Christmas holidays. I flew to NS to spend some of it with my family, as soon as I walked into my dads I noticed he put a lift in.

He is busy cleaning the car,

While in NS I collected some gift cards lol, easy to travel back home with them. We then flew back to Montreal to spend some time with my GF's family where she gave me my gifts and they are pretty cool. They are collapsible boxes that came from Subaru Japan and her mother got me a laptop cover.

We are now in Germany for the rest of our vacation to enjoy the new years celebrations at my mothers place in Berlin.

Chris and I were talking about the wiring in the car and how to clean it up, one thing led to another then we ended up with a motorsports harness made by Sasha from On-point tuning. Going this route will simplify the harness and shed a lot of weight by removing all the unneeded wiring to things no longer used, also we can get rid of the oem fuse panels and all the relays in the car. To do this we are going to use the Cartek power distribution panel.

16 User Configurable Channels (no Laptop required)

Selectable current settings of 5, 10 or 15 Amps. Combine two channels together for 20, 25 or 30 Amps

 Selectable Functions such as

-Momentary action (Starter Motor, Washer Pump etc)

-Latching (with memory)

-Latching (without memory)

-Latching with Time Delay (Heated Screen)

-Flashing (Indicators etc)

-Toggling (Headlights High Beam/Low Beam)

-0v Momentary action (use as ordinary switch for ECU Map etc)

Over Current and Short Circuit Protection - no Fuses or Relays needed.

Multi coloured Label Sheet included for full customisation.

2 Back light settings as standard.

16 Momentary Switch Inputs - allowing any channel to be operated by an additional switch or the CARTEK Wireless Control System.

16 ECU Inputs - allows the ECU to turn on channels such as Fuel Pumps.

4 Dedicated function inputs - Flash Input for Lights, Wash Input for Wipers, Wiper Park position etc.

weighing in at 1.4lbs

Here is an idea of how it could look mounted in the car.

Thanks!, ya it was great to find this. To do it via MOTEC it would cost a bit more than I was willing to pay for at the moment and with motec it is 2 units, PDM and then a panel, where this is both in one.

Ordered the new drysump pan, this time I went for the newly designed billet version. If some of you remember the old one took a good beating from a rod.

I also suited up to do some test fitting. The seat is about 1" too low and the steering wheel is about 2" too low. Both will be easy to fix as I thought I wanted to be lower but now I cant see over the dash. to lower the steering coloum I had added a spacer which now I can remove and it should be back into the correct position. The seat well it can just go up on the seat mounts LOL.

Just like the car before this I cut the roof out of it to install the MSI dry carbon fiber roof. This time I did it the proper way, cutting out all the spot welds.

The roof is not sealed in yet, I will have to order the proper stuff. Then we can seal in the windows again.

the new pan finally arrived, apparently it helps when you get the CC number correct when you place an order lol.

I was back down to work on the car some more, installed the fan onto the CSF rad. I also installed the front fenders, had to get a little creative to figure out where to drill through the FG. Test fitted the bumper, I will need to figure out how to mount that as it isn't as straight forward, also want to make sure it can come off easily. We also prepared the rear for the other panels and did a quick check to see fitment. Body work is not something I like to do so it may come out a little rough around the edges for now, I will look to have it properly sorted when I have time.

quick picture of how the splitter sits under the motor, you can see it got a little hot at one point. The bubbling is just clear plastic that was used to keep the splitter in good shape, like a clear bra.

I was wondering what that was a picture of. I saw it posted on IG and thought it was odd you had an oil leak without a motor in there yet..lol The car is coming along nicely. How's Tougue's new shop? Their old one always felt cramped

haha, ya just test fitting things.

The new Touge shop is great, 3 lifts for everyday use and another lift for project cars/shop race cars. an area for Tuning and then some nice shelving for all the products. Also has a much larger waiting area.

none at the moment, been gone away with work. Updates will be slow coming until after Easter as i will be gone with work until then.

Cartek panel has arrived and all the oem connectors to make a engine harness have arrived. Ill need to get a few extra sensors and then we can start building the milspec harness for the car.

Still on track for tuning at track testing done by end april.

last 2 parts of the wiring harness are at the house waiting for my return.

Cartek XS kill switch system, much more compact than my last system.

KMS wheel speed to CANBUS converter.

I will be heading down to Touge this Wednesday to chat with Chris and Sasha to make sure all our ideas and time lines match. Then I am off to Romania for 2.5 weeks.
