But you don't live in a garbage can.

I mean you have a relatively happy outlook on life.

Ozcar is pretty clever.  I like that.

The car however is the color of an old galvanized trash can.

Beat me to it.

Plus, I'm a grouch who's dead on the inside (ask my wife).

There's medication for that.

I'm interested in hearing what your thought process was when deciding on this. From previous posts, it would appear you consider the options carefully.

Why is that in reverse?

It's just the frame rate.  Like the wagon wheel effect, they're going so fast, it looks like it's going backwards.

Sorry, missed this post. I've been lusting after a FiST for a long time now, roughly four years after having driven one belonging to my nearest H Street competitor and beating him in his own car. Went new because I like knowing the history of the car. Went moonroof-less because I'm over 6'-0" tall and I barely have room even now when wearing a helmet. I'm very in tune with FWD cars, more so than RWD and feel like I can be very competitive in this car in street class. PAX is my friend and soaks up my incompetence.

I have my first AutoX in forever coming up early July in Fontana. Going to do the T&T on the Saturday prior to learn the car and blow out the cobwebs. Going to put my 16" wheels on about two weeks prior to see how the car handles on them.

To do: sort out my autox stuff and routine early so I can hit the ground running and stay calm on race day.

This is a pretty interesting analysis given all the hoorah about RWD.  TBH, I've thought about it a lot with ice racing and I think I might do better in a FWD as well.  After all these years of ownership and a few in Ice Dice, I still don't know how to rotate the car exactly how and when I want it to.

Try steering input and gas pedal input.

When the WRX doesn't want to rotate, I lift off the gas and she comes around quite predictably for me. In Airdrie, when you came, I lifted at the fast right hander and that's when it got a bit exciting. But that's rotation.

You can do it too. Just believe.

This is interesting. Even though I've moved away from the prairies and don't necessarily need AWD any longer, I have a block about moving to a non-AWD car. It's a good motivator to experiment with other options.

I found your car did not rotate and change directions well with throttle at ice dice.

AutoX test and tune tomorrow and event on Sunday.

Put the lighter wheels on. Turns out the rolling diameter is slightly higher than stock. Whoops. I'm not a fan of these things anyway and will end up on RE-71R's next year. Lots of road noise from these too... not something I ever noticed in the old SVT. Wheel gap from being dropped off the jack:

Phat:

Took the front number plate bracket off because I'm getting PPF applied today. Not a cheap experience here in SoCal, but then I also supported local and went to the best guy in town. Pick up the car tonight after work:

Last few days were pretty intense from a drinking perspective as my local neighbourhood lit up on July 3rd - we had a fireworks barge in the bay near my house and the beach parties were phenomenal (#muhliver). July 4th was a little less intense but the liver still took a beating. I'm going to have a dry night so I don't wake up tomorrow at 5:00 am feeling like itshay and having to drive for an hour to stand around in the California sun in a large asphalt parking lot.

After much dicking around with tire pressure I think I like the BFG's. Ended up finding a sweet spot around 46 psi Front and 34 psi Rear. After a long gap between events I'm happy with how the day panned out.

Not my fastest run, but the one I felt most excited about... you know, being dead on the inside and all...

That is a huge lot. Is the FiST still in it's break-in period?

16/140 in a competitive club. I'm disappointed but coming to terms with the fact that it's a new car, zero seat time, long time not competing and a bunch of seriously good drivers to race against.
