Robs Tune EJ20K
« on: December 04, 2012, 11:44:19 pm »
Does anyone know when Rob is getting his tune available for the 20k? 440 or 550? I know its a little ways away but I want to plan ahead.

You can email him at rob.files@gmail.com (fairly sure that's the right one, someone wanna chime in?), but I think he said it'll be done by Spring for sure.

^this. Rob has indicated a number of times the difficulty working with the ej20k ecus. I would just say sit patiently and know that he's doing his best.

That being said, he will often update on NASIOC before coming on here, although he does have a WSC account. his username is rob (all lowercase) on NASIOC, and I would suggest keep glancing over there for any information releases.

I was emailing him recently about foresters/20K's.  He said his tune was still a few months away.

It's out when it is out. He has no obligation, and as I am sure as said before it is not his full time job and likely just a hobby of his.

Exactly. And he most likely gets annoyed by people constantly emailing him about it.

Did it sound like I was complaining? I was stating a fact.
What I was implying is that "a few months away" is a more optimistic way of saying "ya, maybe later". Nobody knows the ETA and that probably includes Rob himself. So nobody needs to start creaming their pants unless there's a more specific release date. OP asked this question so he could plan ahead. You can deduce from my previous post that you have some time before you start planning and worrying about this tune.

Yes, I'm so sure that someone is annoyed that he is getting emails from many people about wanting to spend $300 and get a tune off him.
He must be so pissed off with all the money he is going to make  :sarcasm:

It's not like it's his full time business, he does it on the side. Since it's not ready yet he'd probably rather be working on it then responding to the same email over and over.

If your car is a 96 V-limited it should have the EJ20G unless its an extremely late build.

Easy enough to find out if you have a 20g or k. Check the number on the plate in the engine bay.

is it not true that all slanty intercoolers/coil on plug are G. and Straight intercoolers and wasted spark coil on intake are K's?...

I just said what I did because most 96's are going to be version 1-2. Late build 96's (which are actually MY97's) are Version 3, thus EJ20K.

Easiest way to tell is the 20k's have the coilpack on the manifold
