Damn, I didn't even know this thread existed! Sneaky sneaky.
Well I believe our pricing is reasonable on everything. If you find it elsewhere for cheaper and can show that to me, we're always willing to to take a look and try our best to match. So since you showed me TF and Evasive, lets take a look and see all the charges that are involved from buying international.
Lets compare the 12x1.5 Neo Chros, in locking.
On TF's site, if you select thread pitch 1.5 and locking type in the drop down menus, the price goes up to $234.95. I tried to ship online and it won't let me ship international through the website.
I decided to give TF a call to get a shipping cost. Since the product is shipping from Illinois you're still paying brokerage and duty. Express international (USPS) was estimated at $36-37, ground $20.
So lets say you ship it air (which includes brokerage) and still have to pay 6% duty (made in japan).
$234.95 * 1.06 = $249.05 + $37 = $286
Exchange rate today is 1.0541 -- Source:
http://www.tdcanadatrust.com/fx/rates.jsp286 * 1.0541 = $301.47
On top of that TF is backordered and doesn't know how long it's going to take to get them in stock. Seems like a better deal to me to buy from me, since they're in stock and cheaper.
At Evasive, 12x1.5 locking type sells for $286 on their website. I'm not even going to bother calculating the other charges because it's already more expensive to buy from them.
