My thread keeps vanashing.
« on: July 23, 2013, 07:35:15 pm »
I have posted twice in the last hour to trade/sell car parts and the thread has disappeared without explanation both times.
Can I have a reason this might be?

I posted in the correct section and checked spelling. I am baffled.

I think he got tired of locking/closing all the threads and just started deleting them.

I posted it first as a "FT" so that exempted me from pictures. I think most people who want what I am trading know what it looks like.
I followed all rules.

Interesting interpretation of the rules. To be pedantic (and to agree with you), it doesn't say FT needs pictures. However, it's how you interpret the rules. If it doesn't say "you can" then it means you can't... Loosely speaking.

I... er.... What?! Is it WTB? No? You need pics. Period. End of rules. Thread deleted (several times apparently). No exemptions. Or exemptemtions.

I read and followed the rules.
I will do it again with pictures, but the rules do not require them.

Everyone else seems to understand how this works.
I'll just emphasize with my interpretation, since I'm the one charged with enforcing them.

I posted it first as a "FT" so that exempted me from pictures.
Explain to me how you came up with that reasoning based on what's stated in the ruleset?
The rule is clearly stated in the section you posted in.

I think most people who want what I am trading know what it looks like.
So? Do the rules state "Pics required... unless there are these special circumstances that apply only to you."?
Why do you think people wouldn't want to see the wheels and the condition they're in?

Also, vanishing.

Edit:
I read and followed the rules.
I will do it again with pictures, but the rules do not require them.
Yes. Where you have posted, they do require them.

If you want to find loopholes in the rules, go for it.
I can also find loopholes.

From the rules:
"2. All "For Sale" threads MUST INCLUDE: (Copy the below format if you wish)
Description: Accurate description of item and its current condition (possibly a cross reference of which cars the item will fit, if you know)
Location of seller:
Willing to ship:
Method of contact:
Price:
Pictures: A quality picture of the item (blurry upside down iphone pic not allowed)"

I am looking to trade, not sell. Therefore it is not a "for sale" thread.

I am not trying to argue, just pointing out why I did what I did and how it does not violate the rules. I am a persnickety sort and take things literally.

And where did you originally post the threads?

Was it perhaps in the "Car Parts for Sale" subforum?

A trade is a sale, it just so happens your selling cost happens to be another item.

Quit being ridiculous.

The rules also state that they may be tweaked or modified as needed. Obviously you are more intent on following the literal letter (or lack thereof) of the rules rather than the spirit of them. If you really want to argue in a context that is neither a democracy nor a courtroom, good luck to you.

Now that the intent of the rules has been clarified beyond a point even you can doubt, post your FT thread with pics and GLWS.

Did you post in the "for sale" section? Yes? Well then as far as WSC is concerned, it's a for sale thread that needs to follow all the for sale rules.

What a complete bunch of fancy circle jumping ullbayitshay this place has turned into.

Buncha whining snivelling know-it-alls using all the Internet muscle they can muster to try and gain a little control over really nothing at all. Hope you all sleep better at night!

I had a mediocre sleep last night thinking about fancy things. Thank you for asking though :)

I slept pretty solid. Not long enough, but I just need to go to bed earlier.

I often find that to be the case too. I have a new bed which is awesome, but getting to sleep on time isn't easy when there are so many fancy things abound.

I'm about to go buy a new bed for when I move. Gonna go to sleep country and get me a king sized bed. It'll be glorious.

I've got a king that I bought at Mattress Mattress (which is the mattress store that saves you money fyi) and its both plush AND YET makes my back feel just fancy as uckfay. I wake up everyday and my back sighs and pats me on the back. Which is amazing - I mean what a talented back!

I guess what I'm really getting at is uckfay Christine McGee

I dunno, I got a new mattress at Sleep Country and it wasn't that bad of an experience. They even started negotiating without me even demonstrating a willingness to do so.

I was all like "well I kind of like this one but I want to try the other one again" and the sales rep was like I'LL TAKE $200 OFF THAT ONE and I was like uh okay sold.
