« on: January 02, 2014, 12:34:02 pm »
I'm trying to purchase a set of weathertech floor mat from Aero Car Parts here in Edmonton, I asked them for the club discount of 10%, which it's not a problem at all, however they asked me to show them the Western Subaru Club Card....how can I get one??? Thank you

We don't have one.

They lie. Send me $300 for your member fees, and an extra $200 for expediting printing it off, and I will get it to you in 6-8 months.

Message stickytires. He had a pile of them printed out, he might have some left over to hand out. Or shoot me a PM, I have a large stack in my wallet still.

Are we talking cards to slip under a windshield wiper to invite them to WSC?

or something that says "WSC member in good standing.  Screen-name: ________"?

I'm talking about the slip under the windshield cards, which is what I'm assuming the vendor wants. *shrug*

Was wondering the same thing... ???
Maybe it wasn't Rick at the counter and he has a new guy?

I have no idea, they are supposed to call me back to confirm the stock on the floor liner. Is there a particular person I should speak to at Aero Car Parts??

Rick is real friendly and helpful. I've never asked about discounts from him though. He's an older guy, balding, glasses.

Why would a vendor want one of those? Individual members created their own (using Vistaprint, for instance) to 'tag' spotted Subarus, inviting them to come discover WSC. There is no standard design and they don't prove anything other than that a WSC fan at one point or another tagged your car.

Most stores that offer a discount requiring proof (student discount, teacher discount, club member discount) are asking for proof of membership to that particular group (student card, teacher certification card, club membership card). WSC doesn't have membership cards, since WSC doesn't offer, deny, renew or revoke membership, per se. We're just an online forum, really. We don't even have a secret handshake.
