Very cool!

The penalty for failure in your video looks like death though  :o

That exposure on the left side of the beginning was like a 1000 ft drop, marked as a triple caution. Basically, if you fall off there, set your car on fire because there's no way they're going to get the car out and you need to stay warm.

marked as a triple caution

People note exposures?  ;)

As I said at the event, you were flyin! Congrats on the great stage times and the finish, can't wait to see what you do in 2016  ^-^

You would make fun of me if you saw how many cautions I mark in my notes :D I don't want to crash!

Thanks buddy. I'm going to work on being more aggressive in 2016, I still haven't driven at Cochrane or PFR, but now I know the Radium and Big White stages, so I will try pushing harder

Well there was a dent, I took the door panel off and then pushed the dent in from the other side.. Not much to it.

The dent wasn't super visible because black car.

So to get ready for Snowbird TSD and the Ice Dice season in our car "White Liquor", did an oil change and swapped out the rear shocks today.

First up: New juice. First time running Shell T6 in the car, seems to like it, less noticeable valve tick:

And then to the real work, shocks. Noticed while racing that the right rear shock was bouncing more than normal, seemed like the damper was blown.
Old one off next to the new one:

First new one on the car. Annoying trying to line up the top hat with the holes when you're doing it alone:

I think I found out what the problem was:

That's not supposed to happen! Would explain why that wheel was bouncing like crazy, surprised it never fell out of the wheel well and uckfayed our day up.

Next work will be a car wash, and then back to THE KRAKEN for a brake booster delete and a bleed. That'll happen before test day on Feb 21st.

Soon they will both have matching but opposite color scheme liveries for the racing season :)

Colour schemes are pretty close to being opposite already. Just need to paint your hood scoop and your vents on the sti ;)

So I'm getting the car ready bit by bit here for the rally test day on the 21st, and Cochrane rally on March 5-6.

What bugged me about the car when I drove it at Big White was the brakes. They stopped fine, but it felt like there was some 'dead zone' in the pedal, that I would have to push past to get to where the car actually started braking. Annoying to try and do minuscule brake inputs with that happening.

Here's what part of the culprit probably is: The brake booster is still in the car, but the vacuum line has been tapped off:

I ordered up a brake-booster kit from L&E Engineering and was all gung-ho to get it done today. However, I ran into a bit of a snag: The brake pedal booster shaft. I can't seem to remove the shaft from the clip assembly, as shown here:

I loosen the nut, but the shaft is still stuck in there. I must be missing something. It's hard to see and fit under there, so I gave up today to get some more information for something I might be missing.

And also, I put Ryan's name back on the car windows. Jamie Willets was my codriver at Big White, as a substitute for Ryan. Jamie did great and I think he's landed another driver for some upcoming events.

Any thoughts on the brake pedal?

Otherwise, looking forward to the test day, I might be able to get Jorge Dascollas sit in the car with me and coach me. Test day is good for working on technique, and I want to attack Cochrane and fight for a top position in class, maybe even a top 5 overall.

We attended the Test Day out at the Forest Loop on Sunday. Got lots of practice in the car and good instruction from some professional drivers.

I was getting faster and faster every run I did, and took a lot of volunteers along with me. I should put a Taxi light on the roof just for kicks!

Here's a video YYC Quadcopters of the event, we make an appearance a few times to throw up some dust:

Cochrane in two weeks! Have to fix the rear skid plate and a minor brake line leaking.

Shawn's photos of the test day are pretty sweet.  Good luck on the real day.  I hope you guys get enough volunteers.

Im sure some of us that were helping on the test day will find our way to Cochrane as well.  Had the most volunteers at this test day than Ive ever seen in the past 5+ test days, every station ran like clockwork.......cept the station at gas line when both me and Wim got stuck lol.  Its true you can get an RA stuck, even with a locked center diff.  Then the recovery vehicle can also get stuck lol.

Steve, your transitions at gun club corner were looking very stout, I did not get to see much else on stage tho.  I will admit the 1 partial drive I took of the stage left me wanting some rallycross time in my RA, I miss the runoff areas where mistakes are not as costly.   Had one or two "scary" moments waiting for my studs to catch straight line braking traction thru parts of the 1st half of the stage.  That was just transit/rec speed too.  Very jelly of being able to go where the traction is and drop a side over the edge a bit.  Skid plates, much want!

So I have been thinking of possible ways to increase the visibility of the car and give it some spectator appeal.

Some ideas I had were to put a Taxi sign on the roof, since I was giving people a lot of rides at test day:

I also want to put a megaphone on the roof and blast out some AC/DC while driving down the stages, I haven't seen that on a rally car before :D

What do you guys have for ideas?

Be a better driver.

;)
If the sea was vodka, and I was a duck.
I would swim to the bottom, and drink my way up.
But the sea isn't vodka, and I'm not a duck.
So give me the vodka, and stfu.
If you're having forum problems, I feel bad for you son, I got 99 problems but your post ain't one.

OK OK. Would have g a large speaker on the roof affect your balance?

Not really, I'm envisioning a megaphone style speaker or some such, like a PA system, that wouldn't add too much weight to the car at all.

What about the system Keith has been using for Stage opening? Has a siren and I think flashing lights(Only saw it once)

I think I want something more than just a siren and flashing lights, but that's pretty simple to do I bet
