no way, if youve ever tried to get the brakes off an old toyota, no amount is too much.....

After 100s of streams and rain 8 months a year on the island/coast, it took an oxy-ace torch to get my taco drums loose...

Yes, the west coast climate adds rust to everything here, it just makes it easier to pop them off when needed.

I changed out all the old vacuum lines - 10’ of them - and got the e-brake indicator light working.

Ditched the noisy mud tires and got BFG KO2s.  Quite a difference in noise.

If the sea was vodka, and I was a duck.
I would swim to the bottom, and drink my way up.
But the sea isn't vodka, and I'm not a duck.
So give me the vodka, and stfu.

I have a video that shows the ‘lovely’ paint job. I’m going to get an estimate for body work and paint. I am going to remove all the chrome trim too, remove the side bars and replace the door and window seals.

I finally got the license plate light done, it’s a small thing but i don’t need a reason to be pullled over.  I’m looking forward to having a garage to work out of when we move in May.
I’ll see how bright it is tonight.

Like most 1st Gen 4Runners, the rear window is sloooow up and down.  I took it apart, the tracks/guides look good, no broken teeth.  I noticed it was a reman motor so it’s been replaced at some time. I took it apart, cleaned up the brushes etc, lubed everything up and it made no difference.  I’m going to snag a Toyota motor from the auto wreckers, apparently the left side motor from any Toyota of the same era will work.

I cleaned the inside windows, laid the seats down just because, and found a Toyota pouch with odds and ends, the jack is behind the lh panel.

did you check the circuit resistance to the motor and from the motor to ground?

We went to someone’s place advertising free moving boxes and it zipped up and down like a champ and has been working great ever since. Just turned 400k Kim’s.  However, I am driving the forester more and more as I’m having a hard time with this PMR disease getting in and out of the T4R, and it’s painful for me to do the simple tasks of working on the usual items one has on an older vehicle; quite frustrating.  I’ve also had some other tests unrelated to PMR as my weekly blood test for PMR has indicated a need for them, and now have a biopsy scheduled in June as well.

Just turned 400k Kim’s.

Was just thinking about my '98 4Runner yesterday, and realizing I miss it. We sold it and bought my wife a '15 Tacoma instead.

Had 300k km on the odo when we sold, burnt/lost precisely no oil. Engine felt new.
