Boost leak?

My car is hesitating under boost in 3-4th gear around 3000-4000 rpm makes a popping sound any idea what it is ?? Thanks

It’s a 04 wrx with sti shortblock swap sti intercooler uppipe Down pipe bov (gfb)turbo is vf39 Cobb exhaust

If you have a Cobb accessport, it may be beneficial to take a data log and see what the engine is going through when the popping sound is happening. And if you already suspect it could be a boost leak, you can fabricate a boost leak tester with $25 worth of materials from Home Depot in 20 minutes and see if there is a real leak. With the current information provided, we are all shooting in the dark.

When was the last time your spark plugs were changed?
Were they gaped properly?
