CMyles 2009 Subaru WRX - Bye Bye
« on: January 15, 2018, 08:52:30 am »
Whaaaaats up guys!  >:D
So, I never anticipated getting rid of the forester so quickly, but when opportunities come up you have to jump on them even if there is a risk involved.
Nobody gets ahead without jumping first.

I ended up trading my 01 Forester S/tb plus some cash on my end for the following:

2009 Subaru Impreza WRX
Imported from The TrumpNation in 2013
50,000miles when picked up (Mileage checks out on Carproof)
Technically a "265" version as the states never made a 265. It was either Impreza 2.5GT or WRX. (2.5GT was our WRX, WRX was our WRX265)
The car is in pretty damn good shape, the front bumper has a crack in the lip and a few scuffs and there are 2 snapped wheel studs that I will need to replace. Other than that, the car is clean!

Modifications as of Jan 2018
    ADD ONS
    • SPT Oil Cap
    • Cobb SS Catted Downpipe
    • SPT Heat Shield
    • Cobb SF Intake
    • Cobb Accessport running 91+ Stage 2 Tune
    • Straight Piped from Downpipe Back
    • Unknown Lightweight Flywheel
    • Boost Gauge
    • KW V1 Coilovers

    SOUND SYSTEM
    • Pioneer AVH-X2800BS Deck
    • JL 5-Channel Amplifier
    • Audio Integrations OEM Fit Sub Box w/ unknown 10" sub
    • Unknown Speaker Setup

Is it too early to say how you like the KW v1's? I've been looking at picking those up or some entry level Ohlins.

Honestly right now, they feel pretty good, however I'm not blown away.
They are quite bouncy, but I don't know if the preload was messed with. Come spring, I'm going to reset all the adjustments and get it to a functional but good looking ride height.
I'll be able to give a good review from there.
There is no adjustment for dampening, but they should be "factory adjusted" for optimal performance, so we'll see how it does.
I might look at grabbing a stock catback to toss on for AutoX, because lord knows it won't pass sound!

Remember how you had a GC, then a GD WRX, and then a GD STI?

I'm putting down $50 that you'll be in a GR STI in the next two years.

Nice car and nice pics Spencer.

uckfay, Johnny with the back-handed slap. You're clearly the Oracle.

I'm honestly not sure if the WRX and STi exhausts are compatible.
I would be willing to pick that up off you to see if I can salvage it!

    Yes, yes you do.  >:D

That being said we could always test fit mine before we get the courier going, my stock one is sitting in the garage as well.

Definitely feel bad for them in the morning..
    SORRY NOT SORRY

To be completely honest though I want to toss in one of these and see if it makes a difference.

Also snagged a set of Enkei Kojins for the car.

Trying out a more direct approach on this video.
Keep it short, directed towards one thing.

    18x8 +40 5x100 Enkei Kojin
Came with 245/45R18 Continental ContiProContact SSR.
Sold them already and snagged some 225/40R18 Nitto NT555's

Ended up picking this guy up for the WRX this weekend!
Just needs some TLC, paint prep, paint, or wrap and i'll slap it on.

Might like it, might not. With the WRX being "narrowbody", its hard to say until its installed.

    Example on narrowbody.

I think it definitely looks better on the wide body (everything does ha) but I think it will still look great! When I was dreaming of buying a hatch way back when this was and still is my favorite body modification.

It's tough to say because this car has so much aero and livery.  And the side profile hides the narrow pre-facelift body.  That said, it'll be interesting to see!  I hope it looks good; I love that wing.
