Well, paid for most of it today so it is official.

Check em:

The 3 is raw.  Lighter than more agile.  The 6 probably feels like a 747.  And by that contrast, my STI probably feels like the Hindenburg.  So GR's are like the International Space Station.

Plans! Not many. A whole wack of maintenance and cleaning when it gets here. (common weak links, fluids, etc)

These will run a 33" tire at stock ride height, so I am going to get some 285/75/16 BFGoodrich KM3's and some rims, I already picked up a full sized spare off Kijiji and picked out the rims / offset I want.

Because Edmonton sucks and is horrible with their calcium brine, I will do the whole Krown treatment when it gets here.. Pick up some winter tires for those rims. Put a decent stereo and speakers in, as well as a cell booster. Remove those steps and put some rock sliders on, you can mount a winch under the stock front bumper so I will be doing that as well. I can't tell yet if there is a receiver in that little hole in the back bumper, it looks like there is, if there isn't I will have to do that and wire it for trailer lights. I actually picked up a nice little trailer already as well. I would like to make this into a one man hunting rig, so I can just roll into elk camp, park it, and basically camp is set up.

EVO swap

Bro, already makes 240hp and 253ft-lbs tq from the 6g74. But yes a 4g63 would be great. Did you know this is the same trans that came in the Pajero Evolution?

If that's what it identifies itself as, then ok, cool.

Fantastic. Vehicles like this make me miss my 4Runner. I hope one day to get back into something like this.
If the sea was vodka, and I was a duck.
I would swim to the bottom, and drink my way up.
But the sea isn't vodka, and I'm not a duck.
So give me the vodka, and stfu.

Some info on the Pajero!

The Pajero/Montero won Dakar 12 times!

The GDI claims 30% better fuel economy, and 10% more HP. The pistons look wacky and are crowned, to swirl air / fuel charge. This engine has 10.4 compression, but will also run on regular fuel.

Here is Mitsubishi's press release:
https://www.mitsubishi-motors.com/en/corporate/pressrelease/corporate/detail215.html

and here is another little blurb about them:
http://www.ukcar.com/features/tech/Engine/techno/disc.htm

Pretty neat engine, timing belt looks like a nightmare, which you Subaru folks know about as it is a dual overhead cam v6. It makes 240hp and 253ft-lbs of torque, which I said below, but it is still pretty sweet. My Tacoma made 190hp and 220 tq, but also weighed 500 lbs less.

This thing is pretty heavy, claimed curb weight of 2060kg.

There has been a Mitsubishi Montero in the States for years, I think since 1987. So, there is actually quite a wealth of information and aftermarket support for them. They're known to be quite stout little units.

Also, the transfer case is pretty neat. It has Mitsubishi Super Select II, which means that it can operate in 2wd, it has a viscous center coupling which will act more like an AWD in 4H mode, 4H lock will split power 50/50, and obviously 4 low.

http://www.offroadaussie.com/2013/06/mitsubishi-super-select-4wd/

Pretty neat. It also might have a rear LSD or a rear locker, yet to find out. This one is a cold weather package, which in the US comes with a rear locker, but from Japan supposedly it is still a gamble. Car also has all the maintenance history allegedly.
The 3 is raw.  Lighter than more agile.  The 6 probably feels like a 747.  And by that contrast, my STI probably feels like the Hindenburg.  So GR's are like the International Space Station.

Combo breaker! You beat me to my second post. Props. I don't think the seats are all that weird looking, they're just gray haha. Definitely look like seats from a car from 1999 Japan though haha. look at all the adjustments in them!

Dude this thing is so cool and badass!!!

Thanks! Pretty excited about it. Something different.

I might try to shoe-horn some evo seats in, I will see how I like sitting in these first, but I kinda like them.

Not sure if serious..

There are inevitably nicer cars than yours in the background when you use Braveauto.

Oh man, I would totally sell my soul for an E30 M3. But for what my soul is worth, I'd barely get a hot wheels M3 for my trouble.

Thanks! Reviewing the pictures on my lunch and it looks like I probably have a rear LSD, but it looks like I don't have cruise control :( (surprisingly a few of these have it, the auction sheet also mentioned "multifunction steering wheel" haha)
