I'm getting the Foz ready for Driven in a couple weeks, so I finally got down and took our Flex polisher to my mad swirls! These swirls have been bugging me since I bought the car last year, along with the way it won't bead regardless of waxing efforts. My timing for the show meant I couldn't take a trip to see 10secdream beforehand, but he's on tap sometime this summer to polish and CQ coat once my new set up cures!
After washing and claybar - ground zero!
It's not very obvious from the first pic, but the previous owner had the block heater cord flapping in the wind, scraping the fk out of the hood, headlight, and bumper. WHO DOES THIS???
I didn't get any progress pics, but here are some slick shiny after shots.
I used 3D Ultra compound, 3D polish, and Zymol Ebony carnuba wax. This is the 4th car I've tackled, and probably the worst / most obvious in terms of swirls since it's black. Learned a lot and could probably do a better job next time
However, it's going to a pro, so I'm not worried!
Also, this arrived a few weeks ago! Genuine JDM FXTi grille, to go with my new USDM Sports bumper. The bumper is getting painted next week, along with potentially the hood, scoop and a rusting dent on the rear hatch. After curing, it'll get fully 3M'd.
Lastly, to finish it off [for now], I'm super excited for these to arrive! May or may not be here for Driven - fingers crossed!
And... I should just bite the bullet and order up an 06/07 v-limited style lip, right?
