RAYS SUPABEAST 2007 STI - OVER 350 DYNO TUNE!!
« on: March 29, 2018, 01:18:11 am »
hi guys whatsup!  sorry it took so long to get my build thread ive been super busy!  as you guys prolly figurd out i bought jonnies car!  it came with a lot of goodies already like recaro chairs, damned steering wheel, gauges, floor mats, strait pipe which has already got me in big trouble haha!  i ordered even before buying the car are ebay flares because i no i want to go widebody.  id like to get rota grids 18x10 or maybe bigger and prolly put 225 or 235 on them for the stance look.

some things that need to change.  the frunt bumper is like really bad.  it has a crack in the middle and lots of rock chips and when i drove it home one side was hanging off.  are there body kits for these cars?  i try looking but they dont look that good etiher.  the strait pipe looks kind of bad like homemade.  i like the big fart can look with the blue tips so maybe a n1 or tomei.  i hope i can find these on kijiji or here but if not i will brake the bank lol!

i already had a used blouch 2.5 xtr and perrin front mount so i spent the last few nights installing all that.  the car came with injectors and a meth kit too but unfortunatly there are missing wires that wont come in time for the tune for the meth kit.  jonny said the car prolly has 250hp so i hope i can get 350.  maybe on this dyno it will read high and say 400!  man even tho i shouldnt drive hard before the tune i have to try some runs and wow, it sounds amazing!!

here are some pics from when i bought the car.  i dont have any pics of all the stuff after all the work because each night is so tired and my hands are dirty.

<fixed image size -Mod>

anyway sorry for my bad english but i hope you will like my build!

You can add an s for small, m for medium, or l for large, towards the end of the image url like this https://i.imgur.com/hi7G1lnl.jpg for quick resizing on Imgur.

There's nothing like a coffee cup laying on its side in the rear floor well to show how much you care for your car.

I'll take the straight pipe if you replace it. Midpipe too? You won't need it if you buy an Invidia...

Where are you getting it tuned? Remember what we talked about?

eBay flares? 225 on a 18x10? Front mount?

Stahp. Someone just put it out of it's misery now...

Dibs. Need to round out my hawkeye stable.

I like the idea of the big wheels but not stretching a 225, to be honest.

I'd run anything from a 285 to a 305 rather than a 225. What the hell is the point of putting all the "HP" on there, and flares (that won't fit well), if you won't even have a decent contact patch to put the power down.

Pavement princess. Instagram build. Show but no go. Dyno charts for likes. Street driven, no HPDE/AutoX. :)

This is good 18x10 fitment:

Ugh, those Recaros are gorgeous!

Please take care of this car...Although I fear it is too late.

With friends like these.....

Hopefully you take care of the car. It's been a big player in the club, and a lot of people (obviously) wish to see it given the respect it deserves.
With that being said, you do you man.

Yes, the straight pipe is home made; it was tig welded by a forum member here. He fabricated it, specifically for Jellynuts. So it wasn't machine welded, dimes may not have been stacked, and yet, it's a quality piece.

And bad is a matter of opinion. For instance, running 225s on a 10" wheel, running eBay fender flares, fart cannon with blued tips, and actively seeking a dyno that reads high instead of accurate all in the name of appearances is something I'd consider bad.

Alas, it's not any of ours, the car is yours, Ray. You do you.

Being as you've commented on every build thread, take a read of Jellynuts' thread.

Hey...  Don't worry about these hecklers, Ray.  Let the car be an expression of what you want it to be.  I'll be happy if the new owner is happy.

you do you man.

Overall the plans could be turn out well with some work. eBay flairs can some times need Work to fit correctly, which kit did you order?

Rota grids get people flaming, but a ton of people run them without any issues and you can’t go wrong with the TE-look

For the front bumper I would stick with oem as they are already good looking. Dealers should be able to order one for a couple hundred and get it paint matched when painting the flairs. You could also try *shutters* JDM Tuners. They usually have body parts for most Subaru’s.

The tomei and invidia N1 exhaust can be very loud. Some quieter cattback are Cobb, and  invidia Q300 (there is a ton more but I can only vouch for these). Is the downpipe catted? If it’s catless, switching to a high flow catted DP will help with noise tremendously and only cost a few pennies in HP.

Have fun with the car, do your research, get a tune and take care!

I'd happily drive Rotas. I'd even AutoX them. But not with stretched tires.

Congrats on the new to you car

You don't need stretched tires to look good. Unless you like that kind of thing. Bigger tires also help protect your wheels to some extent. No matter what wheels you get, no one really wants to have to replace or repair them.

*Buys car used for racing*
*Stances it out with too wide wheels and stretched tires*

And Jesus wept.

haha wow!  i didnt think my mods would be so hated but haters gonna hate.  its ok.  yes sorry about the mess its a bad habit but i will make sure its clean when everything is done.  i like the stretched stance look which is why i thought 225 but ya my goals are to make it a show car but i also want it to be fast.  next year i will put in airbags but for now i have some stock struts and tein springs sitting in the garage that i lowball someone on kijiji.  but im so tired working evvery night on this car i need a brake.  sorry about the mess but it actually got more worse haha.  and not a good picture of the intercooler.  i hope i didnt brake something on the light bulb when i  put it in.....

...the car has fairly good coilovers on it? Why are you putting stock struts on it with lowering springs?

Build threads give a really good look into what potential buyers are going to have to deal with when they buy project cars..

Look forward to seeing where this particular build goes. I can see it going one of two ways.
