Jackal's Project "Barbarella" (2003 Lexus LS430)

Well now for something completely different....  and as of now un-named.

Recently I sold Bianca and was in need of something for the winter.  After a short search I found a model that made me giggle.  It's completely different from what I've had in the past,  but for winter I wanted something a bit easier.

Sure,  it's an old man car,  but I'm becoming an old man,  so it's fitting.  This winter I wanted things like a smooth (Air ride) ride,  and super heating (and cooling) seats.  Something automatic so I can meander to my destination and enjoy my pipe.  It's different for me,  but so far I'm loving it.

Plans for the car include fixing a couple of the little fiddly bits that don't work,  and eventually maybe even make it a lowrider show/daily.  We'll see.

The day I got her,  and haven't figured out the air ride controller.

Since it's an old man's car, Bridget, or Bertha.

That was the name of the captain, the black boat was called "Red October" or "Krasniy Oktyabr" for all you comrades out there.

I think the car's name should be "Nero"

Since Bob divided all the votes, my next suggestion is “Boneless Wings”

I say should be called "Project Bippu". Go full VIP on it, get some Junction Products neck pillows, dashboard tray for your cigars and window curtains.

Go from old man spec to VIP spec.

Thanks for all the suggestions for names whether they be ridiculous or not. Once i really get a feel for her, a name will appear I'm sure.

I say should be called "Project Bippu". Go full VIP on it, get some Junction Products neck pillows, dashboard tray for your cigars and window curtains.

Go from old man spec to VIP spec.

She's part way there.  The Junction stuff I don't get though.  The guy before me had the curtains, knots and pillows.... but I don't get most of it.  I haven't gotten rid of them yet,  but the curtains are all that remains.

I already have the Vossen 20's up for sale on kijiji as I'm just not a fan of them.  As it was put to me before...Vossens are the Ed Hardy of the wheel world.

I think the plan is understated and comfortable,  after all that's why I got her. I may get a bit more aggressive exhaust,  but mechanically she'll remain pretty much the same. Some nice wheels and a new air ride controller are on the list as well.

She has some issues though,  and for the price I expected that.  The front bumper has been replaced and a respray on one of the front fenders,  so there is that to sort out. With the bumper, the radar controlled cruise isn't functioning,  so I have to dig in to find out if the radar components are even still there.  I also have to rebuild the headlight washer assembly as that was also lost with the non UL bumper.  Having never seen them working on another LS430,  I'll have a lot of learning to do on this car to get her back to perfect, and do it all myself.  The guy before me also installed a god awful sub box that occupies waaaaaay too damn much space,  so I'll be looking to replace that with a smaller sub assembly.

Realistically she's a good daily with gobs of torque and yet super comfortable.

LOL! I was joking about that, but that's pretty damn funny that it came with all the junction products pieces. You gonna sell them off again?

Let me know if you're looking for wheels, I can help find something that would suit the car much better than those Vossens did.

Oh good.  Those belong on some trash rapper's pink Escalade.

I hope you don't consider my name suggestion as ridiculous.  The car even has an air tank system to provide stability and allows the car to submerge and resurface.

This just in...  A name is chosen. It's been an inside joke with my better half for a long time, and just kept coming back to it. So, here she is.... Barbarella all lowered and shined up for the snow today.
